Sunrise

Filed under: Painting — miasmagladness @ 8:11 am

The still life paintings I do in the winter take so much longer than landscapes I’m not going to be able to post as frequently. But here *is* a landscape. I got up really early one morning and looked out on the most glorious sky. A sky like this only lasts for seconds but fortunately the camera was close at hand so I could get a photo. It’s hard to believe the colors were this vivid, that I’m not making them up. It was a breathtaking spectacle.

  1. Sort of makes you understand how the ancients came up with the ideas for their mythological creatures, doesn’t it? Your painting looks rather like a huge golden rooster, or else a dragon head.
